Welcome to the Georgetown Art Room! Your art teachers, Mrs. Persch and Mrs. Brouwer, have been busy getting the art room ready for the new school year and creating awesome new art lessons. We are looking forward to seeing you in September!
For a look at some of the things we create in the art room, check out our 2013 District Art Show and visit our on-line student art gallery at ARTSONIA.
A huge thank you to everyone who visited our annual District Art Show this week! We had a fantastic turn out – we packed the City Hall reception room! Thanks to all of you for your support of our art program. Here’s a last look at the show!

Save the date! The thirteenth annual HPS Student Art Show is just around the corner. Our annual show includes over 800 masterpieces from our Elementary, Middle, and High School students.
The show dates are April 22-25, with artist receptions from 5:30-7:30 PM each evening.
Don’t forget our new show location – Hudsonville City Hall, 3275 Central Boulevard. The show is free and open to the public and may also be viewed during City Hall business hours from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Mrs. Persch and I had a marathon day in the art room, sifting through stacks of student artwork and preparing pieces for our upcoming HPS district wide Student Art Show. Here are our most recent art show selections – all 35 of them. Congratulations, artists!

Here we go – the first Georgetown pieces have been selected for our 13th annual district wide HPS Student Art Show. Many more masterpieces to come before our show opens in April 2013! Congratulations, artists….drumroll, please!
Last week we had the privilege of sending another Georgetown work of art to our friends from our Sister School in Raey Guang, Taiwan.
This is our third piece of artwork that has traveled to Taiwan – we hope our friends enjoy this Still Life that was created by 5th Grader Matthew. Matthew shared that the best part about his “Still Life With Zentangles” was that after learning how to draw zentangles, he created his own zentangle designs to add to his piece.
More of these Zentangle Still Life pieces can be found in our Artsonia Student Gallery!
