Fourth Grade artists are finishing up their “Scream” self-portraits in the style of Edvard Munch.  This is the first time we’ve done a Munch project, and my kiddos are loving it.  They were fascinated by Munch’s “The Scream” painting and loved mixing primary colors to create their own Expressionist backgrounds.  (Thanks to Ren at Dali’s Moustache for the lesson idea!)

Final step after painting….we added spirals and circles using a compass and ink pens to really emphasize that dizzy, crazy feeling in our paintings.  Fourth graders LOVED using the compasses!
