Kindergarten and First Grade artists recently finished their clay projects in the art room. Our kinders learned how to make a pinch pot, (roll a ball and stick your thumb in and pinch the edges!) and then created teacups and saucers using their newly learned pinch pot technique.  Afterwards we read “Miss Spider’s Tea Party” to celebrate our tea cup expertise!  

First Graders created clay turtles using a “pinch and pull” technique.  After making a smooth clay oval, they pinched and pulled the clay to create a head, tail, and legs. Texture was added to the turtle shell by pressing it with a bottle cap.

     Our young artists will be bringing their clay masterpieces home soon!
